BigMamma - Taking Care

SIFE Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

Bigmamma helps young people to create the world of tomorrow by empowering their actions in different organisations. The project will try to create an overview of the different youth groups and organisations active in Europe and empower youth actions and motivate people to look beyond borders: all to let them have a bigger impact in the process towards a more sustainable world. On this international platform all youth organisations in Europe that work for a more sustainable future are represented. Main outcome of the bigmamma project is an interactive website where you can easily find organisations and projects, share information and connect to like-minded people beyond borders for inspiration and project ideas. New initiatives and projects can be started in only a few mouse clicks. For more information please contact Anne Walraven.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

SIFE Wageningen Universiteit

Many farmers go bankrupt in The Netherlands because the production process is too expensive. We would like to help farmers who want to produce organic food to have a sustainable income by implementing Community Supported Agriculture in their business. The most important aspects of the CSA-structure are that there is a shared company risk and the farmers have a sustainable income. We want to bring the farmers in contact with established CSA-farmers and give workshops/seminars about CSA and business characters to students and practicing farmers. Currently we are taking our first steps and we already have contact with a farmer who is setting up a CSA-farm. We hope to help him with getting consumers and establishing an open- bookkeeping. The aim of the project is to assist this farmer with setting up a successful CSA-farm.

We joined this workgroup and together with them we will do our best to make Tilburg a ‘Fair-trade-city’.
