Jumpstarting talents to create a better future
About SIFE Utrecht University
One of our running projects is project Minipreneurs. This is a great and ambitious initiative of Utrecht SIFE to VMBO pupils of the Vader Rijn College in the third and fourth years of their education. The team has chosen a path where the children come from a disadvantaged area and gain in ten weeks time both theoretical and practical knowledge of entrepreneurship. Besides earning some money of their own, the children support with their own initiated products, other projects of Utrecht SIFE. Last year, the children of the Vader Rijn College brought together 700 euros by selling their own designed products. This sum was donated to a running Utrecht SIFE project at the time: Payatas. So, Minipreneurs has been very successful in the last year, en this year the team will strive for perfection in their workshop program. Plans to make a product out of these workshop sessions to sell to schools are under construction right now and will start in 2010.
