About SIFE University College Utrecht
Today I write on behalf of SIFE UCU to inform you about some of the developments that have taken place at SIFE University College Utrecht. As of October 2007 SIFE UCU consists of fifteen active and present members, of which nine are new members. We are very pleased to have attracted this amount of dedicated students this year and as a result we decided to implement a new structure, namely that of three project groups, a local, national and international, led by a single team leader. The reason for this change is twofold fold, firstly this makes it easier to adhere to the different goals and target groups as there is aclearer overview of the tasks, and secondly allows SIFE UCU to allocate the different skills and characteristics of each student. (E.g. a non-dutch speaker would be put in the international or national team where he/she can contribute better)
Until now it seems to be going well, although we have recently realized that all the members of the different groups should be encouraged to be more critical on each others projects and groups. SIFE UCU is currently working on four projects. To shortly list these, the Sife Overvecht Entrepreneurship Project (SOEP), the China-Tulip Project, the Serbian-Roma project and the Sife National Africa Project (SNAP). I hope I haven’t left anyone hanging with providing just the names of the projects, but if you would like to hear more don’t hesitate to e-mail me at davandamme@gmail.com. I hope to have successfully informed you of some of the recent changes and activities at SIFE UCU and I look forward to better cooperation between the SIFE teams in the Netherlands, as the ‘stedenbijeenkomst’ on the 30th November suggested. Good luck with all your efforts.
